Kansas State University Tracz Family Band Hall

Manhattan, KS

After completion of construction last spring, the Kansas State University’s Marching Band ‘The Pride of the Wildcats’ has had a chance to settle into their new home and are ready to cheer on the Cats this fall. When it was time for them to find a permanent home on campus, we were honored to collaborate and design a place The KSU Marching Band could call their own.

The space available was an unfinished area below the West Memorial Stadium seating and green roof. Through the discovery and conceptual phases, a program was developed that included an indoor practice and game film review area for 400, including band members, classy cats, color guard and twirlers, with direct access to the adjacent practice field. The larger band hall renovation includes instrument/equipment storage, uniform storage, check out space and a room specifically dedicated to the repair and maintenance of the band’s instruments.
