Kansas Dept. of Revenue - Scott Building

Topeka, KS

The Scott Family had rented their property to the Kansas Department of Education for decades. When they secured a new tenant through the Kansas Department of Revenue, they called on Architect One to supervise the reconstruction and remodel of the existing building.

The three story building was completely gutted, keeping only a concrete block floor and a first floor mezzanine from the original construction. The team worked collaboratively with multiple clients to design a 51,000 square foot renovation, as well as the addition of a new elevator and stairwell tower. This project recaptured space that wasn’t currently being used to its full potential. Our team strategically incorporated raised ceilings, enlarged exterior windows, LED lighting and increased security through door access control and bullet resistant glazing.
